1. Confirm what your account can pick
Open the Avatar selection and check which species are actually available to you. Community records and creator footage do not agree on which creatures are free starters.
2. Research that species' skill tree
Each species carries its own Techtree. Creator tutorials describe finishing a set of three nodes as one completed group, and each completed group as the step that produces an Avatar Shard. Treat the group size as a creator-reported figure, not a published rule.
3. Bank Avatar Shards
Avatar Shards are the recorded currency for unlocking a species' Apex form. Players in creator video comments also describe a separate growth requirement before boss fights, which suggests growth and research gates can both apply.
4. Unlock the Apex
Community records list one named Apex per species. A Helezhura Apex unlock panel captured on 2026-09-13 showed a shard requirement of 40 next to a Purchase button, so the shard-to-Apex link is no longer only a creator claim. That is still one Apex on one screen, so read the number on your own panel before committing.
